I want to install an non electric attic vent on my roof. Is there a good side to place a vent, IE, the west side or east or north or south side of the roof

Most folks place them on the back or rear of a house from the street away from road view. Gable vents work nicely as they do not need to have you go on the roof if you have existing gable slats.
